Istanbul Stock Exchange International Congress Center

Istanbul Stock Exchange / International Congress, Education, Culture and Accomodation Center Project

The project covers a total area of 70,000 m2 and is a very large-scale program. Bringing together diverse functional units within a sloped and complex site required a unifying master concept. The master concept proposed in the project selected through a competition among invited designers involves interpreting the different functional units as landscape elements that will form an artificial topography. The structural and load-bearing elements, utility channels, and most of the architectural elements made of raw concrete, which serve as conduits for natural light, are organized according to a strict geometric and typological discipline. The interior and exterior streets and squares connect the spaces of this landscape and mass concept within and outside the building, adapting to the topography.
