Güney Restaurant was first opened in 1964 in Kuledibi. Situeated in one of the most historical and touristic districts of Istanbul, it is in a very advantageous location within the Galata area. The restaurant is located next to the historical Galata Tower and offers its customers a unique spatial and culinary experience.
During the renovation and complete redesign undertaken by MArS-Architects taking place in 2015 the space was completely stripped from all the excess layers of wall and floor claddings and later additions. The space was meticilously planned and interior redesigned focusing on the underlying historical character of its original architectural elements: stone, brick and timber.. All construction works were completed in 30 days from start to finish after almost one year of careful planning.
Güney Restaurant offers many tastes from Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine to its customers. Among the most famous dishes of the restaurant are olive oil dishes, appetizers, fish varieties, kebabs, meat dishes, pastas and desserts. In addition, the restaurant’s special wine collection offers options to suit the tastes of its customers.
